OFF THE GRID - RUCK CHALLENGE.

The ‘OFF THE GRID’ rucking challenge is one that can be accomplished OYO - on your own. We are asking you to go - off the grid - for one evolution and challenge yourself in time and distance. No technology readily available. Can you do it? Can you stay off your phone for 3 hours? We will see…

COMPLETE THE CHALLENGE.
EARN THE PATCH.

First and always, RUCK UP. GORUCK suggests 30 pounds for anyone weighing in over 150 pounds or 20 pounds for anyone weighing less than 150 pounds…of course, modify as necessary.

To complete the - OFF THE GRID - rucking challenge, you must complete the following:

Evolution 1:

We want you to get out of the house and ruck for 3 hours. Yes, 3 hours…set a distance goal and make it happen. Keep your tracking device in your ruck or pocket. Don’t look at it until after the 3 hours have passed.

Once 3 hours have passed, then look at your mileage. Did you meet or exceed your goal?

Didn’t hit the mark? GOOD. Keep going until you hit your goal.

Did better than you thought? GOOD. Set a higher goal next time.

Want more of a challenge? Up the weight AND/OR do the ruck on a hiking trail or in a mountain. It will be harder to estimate mileage and the terrain will add difficultly to your journey.

Evolution 2:

We have prepared a WOD that can be done before or after your 3 hour ruck.

5 rounds of the following w/ Ruck:

  • 10 Low/Deep Squats (4ct)

  • 10 Wolverines (explanation below)

  • 10 Russian Dips (4ct)

  • 10 Butterfly Sit-ups

  • 10 Overhead Flutter-kicks (4ct)

Wolverine explained: From standing position, drop to plank, one push-up, left knee tuck to the chest, another push-up, right knee tuck to the chest, yet another push-up, stand, jump, overhead clap. That's one…nine more to go. You’re welcome.

Please note: Patches are woven (not embroidered) to allow for the small details. Patches will be shipped beginning to mid-April.
